About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the HR Information Systems (HRIS) department and HR processes across the enterprise
- Research and respond to customer emails
- Process high volumes of mail
- Log into systems and file documents
- Perform personnel tasks involving employee records, benefits, education/training, and employment
- Maintain personnel records and compile sensitive, confidential personnel data requests
- Complete regulatory data requests in a timely manner
- Manage retention of physical documents
- Manage business requests for the legal department and DOD
- Review business requests for accuracy before loading them into systems
- Perform employment and unemployment verifications
- Generate reports and use Excel to manipulate outputs into final deliverable files
- Enhance processes through IT initiatives, including developing training guides and leading business training
- Represent the organizational unit on administrative matters
- Recommend, interpret, and/or implement administrative policies and procedures
- Perform administrative tasks across finance, human resources, purchasing, and research and development
- Prepare budgeting, project scheduling, and statistical reports as required
- Solve moderately complex technical problems
Requirements
What you’ll need- U.S. Citizenship required
- Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant exempt experience; Master's Degree and 1 year of relevant professional experience
- Equivalent pathways include NNS Apprentice School graduate; Navy Nuclear Power School graduate; Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program plus 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience; Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience; or High School/GED with specified combined experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and formulas
- Basic understanding of HR processes, including recruiting, compensation, and employee lifecycle
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work under stringent time constraints
- Strong time management skills
- Hands-on, self-starter attitude and willingness to learn and grow
- Detail- and results-oriented, capable of managing multiple tasks and short turnaround times
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Experience with SAP SuccessFactors or other HRIS platforms preferred
