About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the Leave of Absence department with administering and assisting employees through medical, FMLA, and military leave processes
- Answer calls to the department’s phone line
- Enter information into SAP
- Help employees return to work
- Complete employer verifications for supplemental insurance and state paid leave programs
- Prepare, audit, and reconcile group insurance records for life, medical, disability, vision, workers compensation, and similar employee benefit programs
- Communicate and explain benefits program information to employees, including insurance plans, pensions, stock/thrift incentive plans, and sick leave
- Assist employees with completing forms and respond to benefit inquiries
- Prepare reports and statistical information regarding programs
- Calculate benefits due and issue drafts for payments on self-administered or insured plans
- Prepare communications to physicians, hospitals, and employees regarding claims
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School/GED and 4 years of additional education and/or experience
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and work in a high volume, fast paced environment
- Experience with MS Office products, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Prior experience in benefits, FMLA or military leave programs preferred
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Full-time availability
- Must work first shift
- Not eligible for telework
