About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate and supervise all aspects of the construction process for AOR
  • Define project scope, goals, deliverables, build strategy, and key event schedule
  • Manage the Unit Outfitting Hall
  • Manage expectations with team members and stakeholders
  • Ensure quality and safety standards are met and work is performed on schedule within contract specifications
  • Identify and expedite resolution of design, material, grouping, scheduling, manpower, and other problems affecting critical path work
  • Liaise with trades’ management to control cost performance, determine overtime requirements, and manage cost drivers
  • Evaluate growth work and contract-funded point changes for authorization, funding, schedule integration, and achievability
  • Identify impacts and risks and develop contingency plans
  • Perform structural, tank/void, yard final, concealing-material release, compartment/system turnover, and test inspections
  • Document discrepancies and issue them to responsible parties for correction
  • Assess safety risks and develop mitigation plans

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5 years Construction Supervisor 2 experience AND PMI or equivalent certification in project management
  • OR BS/Apprentice + 8 years combined construction management and production management experience
  • Minimum of 4 years construction/production management experience and 4 years combined exempt experience in Planning, Production Control, Engineering, Construction/Project, or Merchant Marine for the BS/Apprentice pathway
  • PMI or equivalent certification in project management
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Ability to coordinate construction, project scope, schedules, manpower, safety, quality, and contract specifications
