About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the liaison between HII’s Mission Technologies Division and customer stakeholders in the Mission Technologies Enterprise
- Interact and engage with Mission Technologies business units and customers on business matters including C5ISR, EW/Space/Cyber, Nuclear and Environmental, Live Virtual Constructive training, Unmanned Systems and Fleet Sustainment
- Coordinate federal government relations activities focused on the Department of War and Intelligence Community
- Identify and help develop opportunities through strategic engagement with government organizations
- Monitor, analyze and communicate budget and regulatory developments relevant to current and future lines of business
- Advocate for government policies consistent with Mission Technologies values and corporate priorities
- Establish relationships with government customers, regulators and policymakers
- Coordinate meetings to develop market insight on requirements, acquisition strategy, timing and contract vehicle choices
- Support customer and Distinguished Visitor engagements at HII/Mission Technologies facilities
- Translate Mission Technologies priorities into government policymaking, planning and budgeting
- Help translate priorities and activities into customer-satisfying results
- Support and participate in major tradeshows
- Maintain relationships with defense industry partners
- Perform other duties assigned by Corporate leadership
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent education, training and experience
- Minimum of 10 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience; Master's degree and 8 years relevant experience
- Established relationships within the Department of War and Intelligence Community market environment and relevant customer communities
- Existing relationships with senior-level Department of War and Intelligence Community officials
- Firm understanding of the Federal Government budget, investments and acquisition processes
- Participation in government procurements
- Experience in Department of War and Intelligence Community acquisition programs preferred
- Experience in Department of War budget development and understanding of the Planning, Programming, Budgeting System preferred
- Operational experience in relevant Mission Technologies business unit areas preferred
- Experience holding a senior-level government position preferred
- US citizenship required
