About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lay out, install, and repair marine cables, power systems, lighting, and electronic equipment
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Use hand tools, power tools, and electrical test equipment to perform precise, code-compliant work
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits, equipment, and shipboard power systems
- Work in shipyard environments that may involve heights, confined spaces, and varying weather conditions
- Support production across multiple shifts in a 24/7 industrial environment
- Follow Ingalls’ electrical safety procedures in every task and workspace
- Power electrical systems for weapons, navigation, communication equipment, and vital shipboard infrastructure
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 4 years of experience in the commercial, industrial or marine electrical field
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Read and interpret marine drawings and/or blueprints utilizing both metric and standard measurements
- Proven experience in industrial, marine, or large-scale electrical installation
- Ability to read and understand complex electrical drawings and schematics
- Skilled use of electrical tools, test devices, and troubleshooting techniques
- Strong commitment to safety, craftsmanship, and teamwork
- Willingness to work in an active shipyard environment supporting ship construction
- U.S. citizenship required
- Ability to support production across multiple shifts in a 24/7 industrial environment
