About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Learn to install and repair marine cable systems throughout the ship
- Assist with installing and connecting lighting, receptacles, panels, and electrical power equipment
- Use basic hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices
- Read and follow simple drawings, schematics, and layout instructions
- Work in shipboard environments that may include heights, confined spaces, and varying weather conditions
- Support production needs across multiple shifts in a 24/7 manufacturing environment
- Follow Ingalls’ safety procedures in every task and work area
- Develop electrical skills supporting power, lighting, communication, and control systems on naval vessels
Requirements
What you’ll need- U.S. Citizenship required
- Interest in learning electrical installation and repair
- Ability to use basic tools and understand simple measurements
- Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and craftsmanship
- Willingness to work in an active industrial environment
- Willingness to grow skills through training
- Ability to work across multiple shifts in a 24/7 manufacturing environment
- Ability to work in shipboard environments that may include heights, confined spaces, and varying weather conditions
