About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist in installing and repairing marine cable systems throughout the ship
  • Support installation and connection of lighting fixtures, panels, receptacles, and electrical power equipment
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and electrical measurement devices
  • Read and follow drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and basic layout instructions
  • Work in shipboard environments that may include heights, confined spaces, and varying weather conditions
  • Support production needs across multiple shifts in a 24/7 manufacturing environment
  • Follow Ingalls’ electrical safety standards in all work areas
  • Support power distribution, communications, lighting, and control systems for naval vessels

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Two years of electrical experience installing electrical wiring, equipment installation, and wiring hookup (commercial, industrial or marine), or two years from an accredited college with electrical certificate or degree, or a combination of two years of work experience and schooling
  • Hands-on experience with electrical installation, repair, or industrial electrical systems
  • Ability to read and work from electrical drawings or schematics
  • Skill using common electrical tools and testing equipment
  • Strong commitment to safety, craftsmanship, and teamwork
  • Willingness to work in an active industrial environment and continue developing electrical trade skills
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Ability to work multiple shifts in a 24/7 manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and varying weather conditions
