About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Supervise, assign, coordinate and evaluate semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel
  • Supervise and train employees to improve quality and quantity of work
  • Recommend training and assist in developing training procedures
  • Break broad strategies into practical action plans and ensure employees are trained to perform them
  • Ensure compliance with drawings, procedures and all technical aspects of the job
  • Oversee manufacturing, installation, operation, testing and process operations with significant financial impact
  • Monitor job and budget performance for all shifts
  • Perform management duties for the Pipe department, including Safety, Quality, Cost and Schedule
  • Perform additional management responsibilities listed in Shipbuilding Management Charter 0001

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS/Apprentice OR High School and 4 years combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military experience OR Associate Degree in a Trade/Technical and 3 years of relevant manufacturing, shipbuilding, trade and/or military experience
  • Must be willing and able to work any shift assigned
  • Internal candidates must have a Superior Attendance and Disciplinary Record
  • Candidate cannot have more than 3 unexcused absences in the last 180 day period
  • Candidate cannot have any safety DANS that result in a disciplinary layoff in last 180 day period
  • Candidate cannot have more than 2 total DANS in the last 180 day period (excluding lost tool)
  • Nice to Have: Bachelors/Apprentice OR High School and 6 years related Trade experience
  • Experience as a workleaderman and/or performing Supervisor Re-Rate duties
