About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Supervise, assign, coordinate and evaluate semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel
- Supervise and train employees to improve quality and quantity of work
- Recommend training to enhance employee skill and productivity
- Assist in developing training procedures
- Break broad strategies down into practical action plans
- Ensure employees are trained to perform action plans
- Ensure adherence to drawings, procedures and all technical aspects of the job
- Oversee manufacturing, installation, operation, testing and process operations with significant financial impact
- Supervise qualified trades staff and monitor job and budget performance for all shifts
- Perform management duties involving Safety, Quality, Cost and Schedule
- Perform additional management responsibilities under Shipbuilding Management Charter 0001
Requirements
What you’ll need- BS/Apprentice, or High School and 4 years combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military experience, or Associate Degree in a Trade/Technical and 3 years of relevant manufacturing, shipbuilding, trade and/or military experience
- Must be willing and able to work any shift assigned
- Internal candidates must have a Superior Attendance and Disciplinary Record
- Internal candidates cannot have more than 3 unexcused absences in the last 180 day period
- Internal candidates cannot have any safety DANS that result in a disciplinary layoff in last 180 day period
- Internal candidates cannot have more than 2 total DANS in the last 180 day period (excluding lost tool)
- Nice to have: Bachelors/Apprentice or High School and 6 years related Trade experience
- Nice to have: Experience as a workleaderman and/or performing Supervisor Re-Rate duties
- U.S. Citizenship is not required for this position
