About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and manage comprehensive internal export and import controls
- Ensure compliance with U.S. and foreign regulations for international marketing, sales, supply chain, and other business activities
- Establish processes for submitting to and obtaining required export and import licenses, permits, certifications, and technology release determinations from the U.S. government
- Establish and maintain relationships with government regulatory agencies
- Establish operational processes for trade-compliance gate reviews covering technical data, foreign travel, foreign visits, and export/import shipments
- Maintain trade-compliance records according to regulatory requirements
- Support the law department in investigating and resolving compliance problems, questions, and complaints
- Establish and maintain training and audit assessment programs
- Ensure implementation and effectiveness of internal controls
- Generate performance metrics for export and import processes
Requirements
What you’ll need- U.S. Citizenship required
- Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant exempt experience; Master's Degree and 1 year of relevant professional experience
- NNS Apprentice School graduate, Navy Nuclear Power School graduate, associate's degree or other formal 2-year program with 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience, military paygrade E-5 or above military experience, or high school/GED with specified combined experience may be used as equivalent to a bachelor's degree
- Experience training company employees in formal and informal settings
- Ability to develop creative course content and training material
- Experience in compliance activities, including assessments, investigations, and related disclosures
- Excellent writing ability
- Strong customer service focus
- Fluency in Microsoft Office applications
- Detailed administrative, reporting, and record-keeping habits
- Direct operational experience in ITAR and EAR preferred
- Direct operational experience processing international transactions preferred
- Direct operational experience conducting Denied Party Screenings and using related software search engines preferred
- Experience using OCR EASE SYSTEM software preferred
- Knowledge of FTR and OFAC regulations preferred
- Knowledge of international transportation and logistics functions preferred
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fluid environment preferred
- Demonstrated process improvement skills preferred
- Ability to work independently on complex tasks and lead tasks or projects preferred
- Superior communication skills for interaction with technical personnel, engineers, and management preferred
- Strong business acumen preferred
