Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan, prepare, issue, and control production schedules
  • Coordinate material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements
  • Advise management on work-in-progress status, material availability, and potential production problems
  • Ensure personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed
  • Schedule equipment and personnel
  • Confirm material supply and demands
  • Prepare work orders or purchase requests for production or purchase of components or parts based on the master production schedule, shop load, and inventory requirements
  • Coordinate interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, and traffic
  • Schedule and expedite movement of parts through move orders, stock transfers, and shipping-order requests

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • U.S. Citizenship required for this position
  • Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of relevant exempt experience; Master's Degree and 4 years of relevant professional experience
  • Equivalent pathways to a Bachelor's Degree include NNS Apprentice School graduation; Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduation; Associate's Degree or other formal 2-year program plus 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience; military paygrade E-5 or above military experience; High School/GED plus specified manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military, or other relevant experience
  • No clearance required to start
