About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Supervise, assign, coordinate and evaluate semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel
  • Supervise and train employees to improve quality and quantity of work
  • Recommend training to enhance employee skill and productivity
  • Assist in developing training procedures
  • Break broad strategies down into practical action plans
  • Ensure employees are trained to perform action plans
  • Ensure adherence to drawings, procedures and other technical requirements
  • Oversee manufacturing, installation, operation, testing and process operations with significant financial impact
  • Supervise qualified trades staff across all shifts
  • Monitor job and budget performance for all shifts
  • Comply with management responsibilities in the Shipbuilding Management Charter 0001 and applicable policies and procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma
  • 8 years of experience, including 4 years in a craft management role
  • Must be willing and able to work any shift assigned
  • Experience using IFS to manage cost and schedule accountability (nice to have)
  • Ability to organize priorities to meet Phase commitments and major events (nice to have)
  • U.S. Citizenship is not required for this position
