About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections at supplier locations
  • Verify material certifications and test reports
  • Identify and document defects or nonconformities
  • Plan, organize, direct, and report supplier quality activities
  • Manage quality activities involving raw materials, packaging materials, GMP service providers, contract manufacturers, and laboratories
  • Translate engineering, manufacturing, and quality requirements
  • Ensure supplier adherence to customer quality-imposed technical requirements and maintenance of quality systems
  • Conduct programs to improve supplier performance, productivity, and process validation
  • Prepare, maintain, and review procurement quality assurance procedures for customer and government compliance
  • Review and analyze corrective action reports and purchase orders to reduce and eliminate defects
  • Monitor quality control activities and systems at supplier and subcontractor facilities
  • Maintain feedback loops
  • Administer certified supplier or receiving inspection programs
  • Audit third-party manufacturers, due diligence, and vendor selection processes
  • Perform deviation investigations into quality issues

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 4 years of relevant professional experience
  • Equivalent pathways include NNS Apprentice School graduate; Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate; Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience; Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience; High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience; High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
  • Must reside in the Rhode Island/Massachusetts area
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Willingness to travel 75%-100% of the time
  • Relevant supplier quality, manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military, or other applicable experience as specified by the qualification pathways
