About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Synthesize customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions within technical, schedule, and cost constraints
- Develop and direct preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures, and schedules for completing systems
- Coordinate integrated testing activities
- Review and evaluate test requirements for completeness of the test program
- Perform technical analysis of complete systems and prepare comprehensive system-level evaluations
- Train supporting employees while personally performing assigned tasks
- Track thousands of pieces of government property in SAP and the E25 Equipment Database
- Manage successful completion of annual government property inventories
- Identify obsolete equipment and recommend suitable replacements
- Procure material using the NNS stock system, Perfect Commerce, or NNS Procurement Card
- Complete material receipt and reconciliation duties
- Submit purchase requisitions for material orders exceeding the cost threshold
- Manage E25 material and equipment databases and provide status on orders, locations, and calibrations
- Submit test equipment lease requests and coordinate with customers, leasing companies, and Maintenance Planning
Requirements
What you’ll need- ABET Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience, or Master’s Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience, or Ph.D. and 0 years of experience
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Ability to interface with internal and external customers and suppliers
- Advanced understanding of calibration requirements
- Ability to serve as departmental Government Property custodian
- Advanced understanding of material procurement methods
- Ability to oversee calibration, government property, and material/equipment procurement support employees
- Ability to interface with external suppliers and resolve discrepancies
- Advanced understanding of test equipment capability and equivalency
- Understanding of processes and documentation for moving material and equipment internally and externally
- Ability to provide timely updates to customers, team members, and management
- Advanced understanding of temporary test equipment/systems and ship systems interfaces
- Ability to read and understand electrical equipment specifications
- Ability to communicate effectively, train teammates, and oversee others
- Good organizational and computer skills
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- No security clearance required to start
