About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide day-to-day operational oversight of the NNS salaried recruiting team
- Lead and assign work to staff by leveraging employee skill sets
- Establish work-team goals and evaluate employee performance
- Conduct interviews and recruit prospective employees
- Refer job applicants to specific job openings
- Evaluate applicants' experience, education, training, skills, knowledge, abilities, and qualifications
- Prepare applicant ratings and make recommendations on starting salaries
- Provide applicants with company information
- Administer tests and interpret results as needed
- Check references and arrange transportation for selected applicants
- Extend formal job offers
- Work with outside agencies and vendors
- Support hiring plans and strategize to improve recruiting, onboarding, and transfer experiences
- Enhance and grow relationships with veterans, universities, and technical schools to build workforce pipelines
- Drive continuous process improvements to enhance the candidate experience
- Maintain high customer service, accountability, engagement, and business results
- Collaborate with candidates, company leadership, management, team members, and stakeholders
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience; or Master’s Degree and 4 years of relevant experience
- NNS Apprentice School graduate may be equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree
- Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate may be equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree
- Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience may be equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree
- Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience may be equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree
- High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience may be equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree
- High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience may be equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Familiarity with employment law, hiring practices and compliance requirements for government contractors
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working effectively in a team setting
- Critical thinking skills and willingness to collaborate
- Ability to work with a sense of urgency and be highly responsive
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- No security clearance required to start
