About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Establish Hippocratic AI's first Public Sector practice focused initially on the Department of Veterans Affairs and HHS OpDivs
  • Serve as primary operational and strategic partner to the Chief Growth Officer, Public Sector
  • Build and sustain relationships with government stakeholders across VHA, VBA, NIH, FDA, CMS, and Indian Health Service
  • Cultivate relationships with prime contractors and channel partners, especially SDVOSB primes, GSA MAS/OASIS+ holders, and software aggregators
  • Represent Hippocratic AI at industry events, conferences, and agency industry days and manage follow-up
  • Identify, qualify, and develop capture strategies for VA and HHS opportunities
  • Maintain a pipeline covering RFIs, Sources Sought notices, challenge.gov/AI Tech Sprint-style competitions, and teaming-based subcontract opportunities
  • Develop win strategies, teaming structures, and pricing approaches with technical and product stakeholders
  • Draft proposal content, capability statements, white papers, and past-performance narratives
  • Coordinate compliance matrices and technical, security, and pricing inputs under proposal deadlines
  • Build and maintain a reusable proposal content library
  • Coordinate Legal, Security/Compliance, Product/Engineering, and Finance workstreams
  • Manage ongoing government and partner account relationships after agreements
  • Track contract vehicles, solicitations, competitor activity, and policy developments
  • Maintain competitive positioning materials and agency-specific battle cards
  • Within 90 days, understand offerings and federal positioning, support target-opportunity identification, and help align internal infrastructure and policies
  • Within 12 months, help create lasting client and partner relationships, respond to live acquisitions, win referenceable work, create a forecastable pipeline, and establish pursuit infrastructure

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of experience in federal business development, capture management, proposal management, or account management, with direct, substantive exposure to VA and/or HHS
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain relationships with government stakeholders and prime contractor/channel partners
  • Strong written communication skills and direct experience drafting proposal content, capability statements, or executive-level relationship and positioning materials
  • Comfort operating across the full BD-to-close lifecycle
  • Highly organized and self-directed, with ability to operate with minimal oversight in a small, fast-moving team
  • BA or BS required
  • Ideally located within easy commuting distance to key federal health clients in the DMV area
  • Existing relationships within VHA/VBA leadership or program offices and/or NIH, FDA, CMS, or Indian Health Service preferred
  • Experience capturing or managing subcontract relationships under SDVOSB-held or GSA MAS/GWAC-held prime contracts preferred
  • Familiarity with VA's Rule of Two and FAR 52.219-14 subcontracting-limitation rules preferred
  • Familiarity with SBIR/STTR programs and Phase III sole-source award mechanics preferred
  • Experience with a first-time federal entrant or building GovCon infrastructure from scratch preferred
  • Healthcare, health IT, or benefits-administration domain experience preferred
  • Familiarity with commercial-item/firm-fixed-price federal contracting structures preferred
