About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the platform and organizational transformation with the current team
  • Own infrastructure, architecture, and vendors
  • Replace the traditional product-manager-to-engineer handoff and test integrated engineering/product collaboration
  • Enable engineers to work directly with business and domain experts
  • Move code writing to LLMs with automated QA, beginning with lower-risk areas and later reaching critical financial components
  • Hire engineers who communicate with stakeholders and ask questions; may bring in 1–2 people sharing the vision
  • Focus on internal efficiency rather than setting an independent product or market vision
  • Months 1–3: bring customer, financial, and manual data flows into one clear perimeter
  • Months 4–6: build an agentic harness enabling non-engineering teams to prompt agents, create tools, and run workflows
  • Work directly with founders and report to the CEO

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience building financial systems such as ledgers, reconciliation, processing, gateways, or double-entry accounting
  • Strong data architecture background
  • Ability to hold the full technical picture across infrastructure, architecture, and vendors
  • Senior engineer with proven results
  • Knowledge that code quality and review still matter, with readiness to change how work gets done
  • Business-oriented thinking and communication
  • Mature, collaborative, transparent operating style; willing to make bold calls carefully
  • Payments or acquiring background is not required; any financial systems experience works
  • Nice to have: rebuilt or transformed a team before
  • Nice to have: based in London

Benefits

Comp & perks
  • Year 1 is fixed pay
  • From year 2, shadow equity tied to P&L performance, with a path to real equity; details to be agreed
  • Direct work with the founders, reporting to the CEO
  • A team of about 15 engineers to inherit and reshape
  • AI-native setup where non-engineers build their own tools
