About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Define and implement architecture standards for data and software pipelines, modeling, and integration, including new and legacy systems
Develop and maintain ingestion and transformation pipelines using BigQuery, Cloud Storage, dbt, and Prefect
Implement DevOps/DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD, version control, code reviews, and secrets management
Apply governance and security controls, including IAM, policy tags, Dataplex, and metadata management
Diagnose and resolve failures, performance issues, and technical debt
Plan sprints and prioritize deliverables with the team and product owner
Prototype and integrate artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions into the data platform
Provide technical mentorship to less experienced professionals

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field
Completed postgraduate degree in technology
Advanced SQL and query optimization
Knowledge of Python
Knowledge of BigQuery
Knowledge of dbt
Git/GitHub with CI/CD pipelines
Data modeling
Prefect or another orchestration tool (preferred)
Dataplex (preferred)
GCP IAM (preferred)
CDC and streaming, including Debezium and Kafka/Redpanda (preferred)
Infisical or another secrets management tool (preferred)
