About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support management of workflow consistent with the project schedule
- Communicate project priorities to field staff and subcontractors
- Maintain daily logs and reports of activities and site conditions
- Manage punch lists and the closeout process through owner/architect acceptance
- Understand and administer HITT’s safety program for subcontractors
- Ensure accidents and incidents are promptly reported and investigated
- Assist with safety inspections by outside agencies
- Assist in planning, organizing, directing, and controlling building aspects of projects to meet budget, quality, time, and safety objectives
- Work with the project manager to formulate project schedules
- Ensure proper installation methods and sequencing are followed
- Maintain HITT quality standards
- Maintain working relationships with subcontractors and develop community relationships
- Ensure accurate daily documentation of work orders and tickets
- Understand subcontractor scopes of work, avoid unnecessary change orders, identify problems early, and provide solutions
- Develop and organize the site team
- Arrange temporary site facilities and utilities
- Identify and expedite long-lead items
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma required
- Four-year degree from an accredited university with a concentration in construction, engineering, or business is strongly preferred
- 2-5 years’ experience in commercial construction, including experience with a commercial general contractor
- Tenant renovations, service work, work in occupied spaces, weekend work, and fast-paced project experience are a plus
- Project lead experience is a plus
- Ability to master sector/project-specific software systems, including Microsoft Office suite, ProCore, Adobe, and BlueBeam
- OSHA 30 Certification preferred
- Ability to walk and/or stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally in writing and verbally
- Ability to gather data, interpret it into meaningful information, and communicate it clearly
- Ability to organize and manage tasks and priorities
- Ability to adapt and exercise flexibility with changing technology, design, means, and methods
- Ability to collaborate with people of various backgrounds and styles
- Ability to create and maintain relationships with colleagues, clients, subcontractors, and vendors
