About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support management of workflow consistent with the project schedule
  • Communicate project priorities to field staff and subcontractors
  • Maintain daily logs and reports of activities and site conditions
  • Manage the punch list and closeout process through owner/architect acceptance
  • Understand and administer the HITT safety program, including for subcontractors
  • Ensure accidents and incidents are promptly reported and investigated
  • Assist with safety inspections by outside agencies
  • Assist in planning, organizing, directing, and controlling building aspects of projects to meet budget, quality, time, and safety objectives
  • Work with the project manager to formulate project schedules
  • Ensure proper installation methods and sequencing are followed
  • Make and follow through with schedule commitments
  • Maintain HITT quality standards across the project
  • Maintain working relationships with subcontractors and develop community relationships that enhance business opportunities
  • Ensure subcontractors are treated fairly
  • Maintain accurate daily documentation of work orders and tickets
  • Understand subcontractor scopes of work to avoid unnecessary change orders
  • Identify problems early and act immediately to provide solutions
  • Develop and organize the site team
  • Arrange temporary site facilities and utilities
  • Identify long-lead items requiring expediting

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma required
  • Four-year degree from an accredited university with a concentration in construction, engineering, or business is strongly preferred
  • 2-5 years’ experience in commercial construction, including experience with a commercial general contractor
  • Tenant renovations, service work, work in occupied spaces, weekend work, and fast-paced project experience are a plus
  • Project lead experience is a plus
  • Ability to master sector/project-specific software systems, including Microsoft Office Suite, ProCore, Adobe, and BlueBeam
  • OSHA 30 Certification preferred
  • Ability to walk and/or stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally, with strong audience-appropriate business writing and verbal skills
  • Ability to gather data, interpret it into meaningful information, and communicate it clearly
  • Ability to organize and manage tasks and priorities
  • Ability to adapt and exercise flexibility with changing technology, design, means, and methods
  • Ability to collaborate with people of various backgrounds and styles
  • Ability to create and maintain relationships with colleagues, clients, subcontractors, and vendors
