About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and manage multiple projects with preconstruction managers and shared team resources
- Deliver preconstruction services from initial program design through completion of final construction documents
- Conduct feasibility studies and prepare budget estimates from conceptual design through final bidding
- Perform comparative studies and value engineering, and present findings to internal and external clients
- Directly supervise preconstruction managers, assistant managers, and project engineers
- Provide complete preconstruction services to clients and operations teams with minimal oversight
- Lead multiple project teams in bid and budget deliverables
- Participate in hiring and termination processes
- Prepare and analyze pricing proposals using market and regional conditions, historical data, material escalation, internal estimates, and subcontractor input
- Manage design and preconstruction phases with owners, design teams, consultants, and HITT operations to advance projects into construction
- Prepare for and conduct client presentations and interviews
- Identify building-system opportunities to control or reduce costs
- Review construction drawings and specifications to identify missing elements and produce complete proposals
- Manage project scheduling, phasing, and logistical planning
- Sustain existing client relationships and develop new client relationships

Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field, preferred
- At least 7 years of related commercial construction work experience
- Has been the lead preconstruction manager on several projects
- Has led others as team leader and has worked to develop and coach others
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Experience with On Screen Take-off (OST)
- Experience with Adobe products, including Bluebeam
- Understand construction drawings and specifications
- Understand project scheduling using P6
- Understand geotechnical reports
- Understand Building Code and LEED Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lead, coach, train, and educate preconstruction team members
- Ability to work collaboratively with people of various backgrounds and styles
