About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide daily inspection of multiple routine construction activities within an assigned discipline/trade
  • Monitor contractor compliance with plans, specifications, contract documents, and other contract provisions
  • Observe, document, and verify work in progress
  • Confirm procedures are followed and materials conform to specifications
  • Perform standard mathematical calculations and measurements of completed work
  • Maintain daily inspection reports, including contractor labor, equipment, and verified material quantities
  • Perform on-site material testing
  • Produce as-constructed sketches as required
  • Recognize and escalate document discrepancies, conflicts, and changed conditions
  • Interpret schedules and provide feedback
  • Operate relevant testing equipment
  • Calculate complex pay quantities
  • Receive general supervision from and assist the Senior Inspector or Project Administrator
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
  • 3 years of construction related experience
  • All required jurisdictional certificates and state requirements
  • CTQP Final Estimates Level I preferred
  • CTQP Concrete Field Technician Level I preferred
  • CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level II (Bridges) preferred
  • CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I preferred
  • CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I preferred
  • CTQP Pile Driving Inspection preferred
  • CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection preferred
  • Nuclear Radiation Safety preferred
  • FDOT Intermediate MOT preferred
  • IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I preferred
  • Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors preferred
  • PCC Paving Inspection (TC3CN004-15-T1) preferred
  • Diamond Grinding and Grooving (TC3MN009-15-T1) preferred
  • Curing, Sawing and Joint Sealing (TC3CN032-16-T1) preferred
