About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide daily inspection of multiple routine construction activities to monitor compliance with plans, specifications, and contract provisions
- Maintain daily inspection logs and review discrepancies or changes with the Field Engineer
- Observe, document, and verify contractor work in progress
- Confirm procedures are followed and materials conform to specifications
- Perform standard mathematical calculations and measurements of completed work
- Maintain Inspector's daily reports covering work activities, contractor labor and equipment, and quantities of material received and verified
- Perform on-site material testing
- Produce as-constructed sketches as required
- Recognize and escalate discrepancies or conflicts within documents
- Interpret schedules and provide feedback
- Operate relevant testing equipment
- Calculate complex pay quantities
- Identify, document, and escalate changed conditions
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 3 years of construction related experience
- All required jurisdictional certificates and state requirements
- West Virginia Division of Highways inspection experience preferred
- WVDOH - Transportation Engineering Technician Level 3 preferred
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
