About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide daily inspection of multiple, complex construction activities to monitor compliance with plans, specifications, schedules, and contract provisions
  • Maintain daily inspection logs and review discrepancies or changes with the Field Engineer
  • Inspect, observe, document, and verify contractor work in progress
  • Confirm procedures are followed and materials conform to specifications
  • Perform engineering inspection practices, mathematical calculations, and measurements of completed work
  • Maintain daily reports of work activities, contractor labor and equipment, and received and verified material quantities
  • Perform on-site material testing
  • Produce as-constructed sketches as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 6 years of construction related experience
  • All required jurisdictional certificates and state requirements
  • WVDOH Transportation Engineering Technician Level 4 preferred, or Associate's Degree plus 8 years post-degree experience in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or Construction Management, or Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years post-degree experience in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or Construction Management
