About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide daily inspection of multiple routine construction activities to monitor compliance with plans, specifications, and contract provisions
Maintain daily inspection logs and review discrepancies or changes with the Field Engineer
Observe, document, and verify contractor work in progress
Confirm procedures are followed and materials conform to specifications
Perform standard mathematical calculations and measurements of completed work
Maintain the Inspector's daily report of work activities, contractor labor and equipment, and materials received
Perform on-site material testing
Produce as-constructed sketches as required
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Current/former HNTB interns only
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 3 years of construction related experience
All required jurisdictional certificates and state requirements
Ability to recognize and escalate discrepancies or conflicts within documents
Ability to interpret and understand schedules to provide feedback
Ability to operate relevant testing equipment
Advanced understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and other computer skills
Ability to calculate complex pay quantities
Ability to identify, document, and escalate change conditions
