About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead a professional or technical discipline section in the design, development, and delivery of project tasks
- Manage scope, budget, and quality control
- Coordinate project priorities, staffing schedules, and staff assignments
- Provide technical coaching and mentoring
- Develop, monitor, and manage the section’s operating budget and forecast updates
- Manage the growth and professional development of the engineering section
- Coordinate section activities, priorities, and staff assignments
- Collaborate with other sections and departments on work-sharing needs and opportunities
- Support strategic planning and project pursuit processes
- Support contracting activities, including scope, work plan, and fee reviews
- Support project delivery processes, work planning, monthly project reviews, and performance methods
- Assist with client discovery, proposal generation, interviews, and win-to-work activities
- Maintain client contacts and ensure client satisfaction
- Recruit, hire, develop, and retain section staff
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and quality
- Perform technical engineering tasks including research, reports, design, specifications, and plan preparation
- Directly and indirectly supervise at least 5, typically 7–10 or more, employees
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- 8 years of practical experience
- 2 years of leadership experience
- Master’s degree in Engineering preferred
- 10 years practical experience preferred
- 2 years supervisory experience preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification preferred
