About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform daily inspection efforts on multiple complex, large, and/or diverse construction projects
- Inspect, observe, document, and verify contractor work for compliance with schedules, contract documents, plans, and specifications
- Confirm procedures are followed and materials conform to specifications
- Advise contractor superintendents on actions needed for conformance
- Review and resolve quantity disputes with contractors
- Perform complex mathematical calculations, constructability and biddability reviews, and measurements of completed work
- Prepare daily and weekly reports on contractor work accomplished
- Review inspectors' daily reports, contractor labor and equipment, and quantities of materials received and verified
- Review periodic pay estimates with contractors for accuracy
- Prepare sketches and assemble data for Field Engineers supporting project changes
- Perform on-site material testing and produce as-constructed sketches
- Lead daily assignments and mentor, train, develop, and evaluate staff inspectors
- Coordinate and manage lower-level inspectors and schedules
- Identify and resolve complex change conditions and field issues with contractors
- Perform field surveying, construction layout, engineering computation checks, construction inspections, and field tests
- Perform work under the general supervision of the Project Administrator when applicable
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 9 years of construction related experience
