About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead a professional or technical discipline field department in project task development and delivery
  • Manage project scope, budget, quality control, priorities, staffing schedules, and assignments
  • Manage staff in Denver and potentially Phoenix and Las Vegas
  • Coordinate with Mountain West Office PM/CM Group Director and West Division CM Business Development leaders to grow CM practices
  • Manage, administer, and coordinate field contracts on large and complex projects
  • Interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate construction engineering assignments
  • Monitor contractor activities for compliance with design specifications and contractual requirements
  • Act as on-site liaison among clients, company personnel, and contractors
  • Analyze complex construction/design problems and develop improved techniques or procedures
  • Represent projects at meetings and conferences
  • Run projects typically valued at $20M or greater and support mega project pursuits
  • Develop project scopes, fee quotations, technical proposals, and contracts
  • Coordinate project activities, establish priorities and staffing, and prepare daily activity inspection reports
  • Monitor contractor progress against reviewed schedules
  • Resolve technical field issues and coordinate responses to requests for information
  • Oversee project controls, schedules, submittals, contract compliance, change orders, cost control, and quality control
  • Implement HNTB's project delivery plan and lead project management plan execution
  • Supervise, mentor, recruit, hire, develop, and retain construction staff as assigned
  • Assist with business development, client relationships, pursuit efforts, proposal development, and presentations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 12 years of relevant experience
  • All jurisdictional certificates
  • Ability to lead and deliver multi-disciplined or large/complex projects on time, on budget, with quality and client satisfaction
  • Ability to independently identify and manage risk and change
  • Experience leading large teams inside and outside of HNTB using sub-consultants
  • Experience using system tools to manage, monitor, and deliver complex projects
  • Experience leading HNTB Sophisticated processes as applicable to the project
  • Experience serving as the lead interface with the client
  • Ability to deploy talent to other projects and develop successors
  • Visa sponsorship is not available
  • Master's degree in Engineering preferred
  • 15 years of relevant experience preferred
  • PE, AICP, PMP, CCM, or NICET Level III preferred
