About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare construction details, design plans, reports, and project-related materials using computer-aided drafting, design software, and other computer software
- Transfer numerical, written, sketched, or electronic information from legal descriptions, survey data, aerial photographs, and computer files to final plans and maps
- Develop and implement custom automated drafting and design procedures under supervision
- Identify errors, problems, or non-standard situations and suggest alternatives
- Assist in evaluating new drafting/design procedures and software
- Visualize and illustrate concepts or designs in 2 or 3 dimensions
- Use algebra, geometry, and trigonometry
- Support the planning, design, and delivery of transportation and municipal infrastructure projects
- Process field and survey data
- Support project documentation and quantity calculations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology or related field, or
- Associate of Science in Drafting or Technical School or related and 2 years of relevant experience, or
- In lieu education, 4 years of relevant experience
- Intermediate knowledge of terminology and symbols used in survey notes, plans, shop drawings, aerial photographs, and maps related to a specific Engineering sub-type
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
- Detail-oriented, eager to learn, and capable of contributing to multiple projects simultaneously
- Collaborative work with engineers, technicians, and project managers
