About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the technical aspect of project delivery
  • Apply advanced technical methods, techniques, and analyses to provide solutions, make recommendations, and resolve issues
  • Ensure industry and HNTB standards of technical delivery are applied consistently and effectively across projects
  • Apply knowledge and experience in partnership with internal project team members and external client counterparts
  • Serve as an advisor on complex projects to provide technical solutions for successful delivery
  • Utilize technical resources in project meetings and project design for the area of specialty
  • Research best practices and maintain outside contact with other specialists
  • Act as an internal and external point of contact for specialty areas
  • Develop and advise others in related subject matter
  • Prepare technical presentations, reports, and analyses
  • Interact regularly with clients at the staff level
  • Perform technical reviews for other projects in the area of specialty
  • Lead project team work in the area of specialty and coordinate work with other disciplines on multidisciplinary projects as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology or related field and 10 years of relevant experience, or
  • Associate of Science in Drafting or Technical School or related and 12 years of relevant experience, or
  • In lieu education, 14 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to develop and implement automation-related tools, such as Lisp routines or Dynamo scripts
  • Experience with the Corps of Engineers, City of Kansas City, MO, and/or KDOT/MoDOT
  • Ability to also work in Microstation
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
