About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the Water Safety product portfolio end-to-end, including accurate and complete product files in ERP and CRM systems
  • Manage strategic vendor relationships, balancing cost, availability, quality, performance, and technical support
  • Conduct product line reviews and update, retire, add, or modify products as market and client needs evolve
  • Own water safety pricing with sales leadership, maintain target margins, and set pricing guardrails
  • Develop troubleshooting resources, decision guides, application playbooks, technical sales literature, and product application documentation
  • Coach Field Service Engineers, Business Development Managers, and the Water Safety Account Manager through technical situations
  • Design and deliver technical training on the water safety portfolio
  • Serve as the primary technical resource for sales and service teams on water safety applications
  • Own technical methodology and design standards for Water Management Programs
  • Review and guide technical solution recommendations for client water safety needs
  • Collaborate on outbreak response protocols and innovation projects
  • Own product launches, market research, competitive analysis, and go-to-market strategy
  • Support general marketing efforts tied to the water safety line
  • Report to the Palatine, Illinois office as needed while supporting field teams throughout the organization
  • Engage directly with clients when requested; direct client engagement is the exception, not the default

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or similar) preferred
  • Relevant water safety/water treatment industry certifications (e.g., CWT, ASSE 12080) are a plus
  • Demonstrated expertise in water safety standards, regulations, control measures, engineering, and troubleshooting
  • Experience managing or supporting product lines, technical programs, or commercial water treatment solutions
  • Strong understanding of vendor management, pricing strategy, margin management, and product lifecycle concepts
  • Experience developing training materials, documentation, and technical resources at scale
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate technical complexity into practical guidance
  • Comfortable in a field-enabling rather than client-facing role
  • Proficiency with ERP, CRM, Microsoft Office, and related business systems
  • Ability to travel as needed and maintain a valid driver's license
  • Preferred experience in Water Safety; Legionella / Waterborne Pathogen Control; Water Management Programs (WMP); ASHRAE 188; Outbreak Response; Product Management; Vendor Management; Technical Sales; Business Development; Product Launches; Pricing and Margin Strategy; and Association of Water Technologies (AWT) or related industry involvement
