About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead Hometrack’s efforts in building innovative mission-critical products that power property decision making in the UK financial services industry
  • Provide senior technology leadership for key product lines
  • Own the technical strategy, delivery oversight, and evolution of highly utilised capabilities
  • Partner with product, commercial, delivery, and wider business stakeholders to define and evolve the roadmap
  • Provide senior oversight of product engineering teams and ensure delivery remains on track
  • Ensure engineering fundamentals including resilience, scalability, security, and operational readiness
  • Support capabilities as they scale to meet future client needs
  • Guide architectural decisions with Principal/Staff Engineers
  • Contribute to setting technology direction
  • Lead and develop software and data engineers and engineering managers
  • Set expectations, coach team members, and build a culture of ownership, learning, and delivery

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Senior technology leadership experience (Head of/Director or equivalent), preferably within or adjacent to financial services
  • Demonstrable experience owning and evolving complex platforms, preferably in a high availability environment
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with Product leadership to shape and deliver long-term strategy
  • Strong fundamental background in software engineering (.Net/AWS/Azure)
  • Experience of evolving team working practices towards increasingly agentic SDLCs
  • Experience managing and leading data engineering teams
  • Pragmatic and outcome-focused, with sound judgement to balance speed, risk, and long-term value
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and guiding teams through an evolving domain
  • Clear communicator who can explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Role-model for Hometrack’s Behaviours and expectations around ownership, delivery, and collaboration
