About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Define and lead the test strategy for SAP solutions and integrations with third-party platforms
Manage UAT and regression testing across multiple domains
Validate SIT deliverables from delivery vendors
Own project test plans, approaches and governance frameworks across projects and releases
Develop and maintain test plans, schedules and resourcing models
Establish and enforce testing standards, frameworks, methodologies and tools, including test automation where appropriate
Define and enforce entry and exit criteria for test phases
Provide go/no-go and release-readiness recommendations based on results and risk
Lead risk-based testing and manage quality risks throughout the delivery lifecycle
Collaborate with development teams, architects, business analysts, product owners, release managers, suppliers and business test users
Validate SAP and third-party integration architecture and ensure testability is built into system design
Assess and challenge architectural decisions affecting stability, resilience and maintainability
Design and execute resilience testing, including failover mechanisms, circuit breakers and graceful degradation
Analyse functional and non-functional requirements and identify gaps in performance, scalability, reliability and usability
Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases and defects
Produce test strategies, plans, test cases, results and closure reports
Manage defect lifecycle, prioritisation and resolution
Oversee test environment requirements, readiness and availability
Drive continuous improvement in testing practices, tools, automation coverage and reporting
Act as the single point of accountability for test delivery within the programme
Ensure systems and integrations are production-ready before hardware and vehicle-level testing
Guide business test users and promote a culture of quality

Requirements

What you’ll need

ISTQB or ISEB Foundation Level certification, or an equivalent recognised software testing qualification
Demonstrable SAP test management experience, including ownership of SIT, UAT and regression testing
Proven experience leading testing within a complex software development and systems integration environment
Experience defining and implementing test strategies, plans, governance frameworks and quality standards
Strong knowledge of software development lifecycles, including Agile and Waterfall delivery
Experience assessing functional and non-functional requirements for completeness, testability and traceability
Knowledge of resilience principles and experience designing or overseeing resilience testing scenarios
Experience managing defects, test environments, quality risks and release-readiness reporting
Experience with test automation tools, frameworks and practices
Ability to produce clear, concise test documentation and communicate complex technical risks to technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to lead and coordinate internal teams, suppliers and stakeholders within a matrix environment
Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, application development and systems integration
Desirable: experience testing connected car services or other software used within an automotive environment
Desirable: knowledge of security, performance and compliance testing
Desirable: experience working within a European or international business environment involving multiple suppliers
Desirable: proficiency in modern test management, automation and reporting tools
Desirable: experience in a customer-facing or business-partnering role
