About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide practical HR advice to managers and team members on policies, processes and employment legislation
  • Support performance management, probation reviews and disciplinary processes
  • Prepare documents and guide managers through performance and disciplinary processes
  • Assist with employee relations matters, including complaints, grievances and workplace investigations
  • Support return-to-work and workers compensation cases
  • Help manage workplace health and safety reports
  • Prepare employment contracts, offer letters and contract variations
  • Support onboarding and offboarding
  • Maintain accurate and confidential team member records in Kronos/UKG HRIS
  • Monitor the HR inbox and respond to enquiries, escalating where needed
  • Help draft and roll out HR policies, procedures and internal communications
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and the team member experience

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least 2 years of experience in an HR advisory role, ideally in retail or hospitality
  • Solid understanding of Australian employment legislation, including the Fair Work Act, the National Employment Standards and modern awards
  • Confident communication skills to provide clear, balanced advice to managers and team members at every level
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with care, fairness and good judgement
  • Excellent attention to detail and accurate, well-documented work
  • Highly organised and able to juggle competing priorities
  • Proactive, practical and solutions-focused
  • Collaborative, positive and willing to support the team
  • Based in Sydney
  • Enjoys the flexibility of a hybrid working environment
