About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

  • Edit longer YouTube-style videos from longer recordings
  • Film on location using a camera and phone
  • Handle both in-person shoots and footage sent remotely
  • Publish and schedule content natively on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube
  • Adjust format, captions, and tone for each platform
  • Add captions and text overlays
  • Maintain an organized content calendar and footage library
  • Monitor trending audio and formats and pitch applicable ideas
  • Follow creative direction on voice and tone
  • Obtain final approval from the founder

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong editing portfolio covering both short-form and longer-form video (short-form matters most)
  • Hands-on editing experience in CapCut, Final Cut Pro, or similar software
  • Comfortable filming with a camera and a phone, and able to be on-site some days
  • Ability to find the story in raw footage and cut with good pacing
  • Knowledge of how each platform works, including TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube
  • Organized, reliable, and able to hit deadlines without being chased
  • Ability to identify trends that fit a food brand
  • Able to take direction and bring own ideas
  • Nice to have: food or hospitality content experience
  • Nice to have: scheduling tools such as Metricool
  • Nice to have: clip-generation tools such as Opus Clip
  • Availability for up to 20 hours per week
  • Located in southern Connecticut and available for required on-site days
  • Must submit 2–3 short-form edits, one longer-form edit if available, and availability
  • Must answer whether currently working for a social media agency in Connecticut
  • Own camera equipment is not required
  • Editing software must be specified in the application
