About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the definition and evolution of fault-tolerant, fail-operational, and redundant avionics architectures
- Derive, allocate, and maintain system and subsystem requirements across hardware, software, navigation, Flight Control Systems, platform interfaces, and hosted applications
- Ensure end-to-end traceability throughout the development lifecycle
- Oversee integration, testing, and performance analysis of the avionics platform
- Ensure compliance with ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO-160, and MIL-STD-810/461
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and external stakeholders during design, implementation, integration, troubleshooting, qualification, and flight-test preparation
- Act as technical focal point for system-level decisions
- Support FHA, PSSA/SSA, FMEA/FMECA, FTA, common-cause analysis, and failure-containment assessments
- Contribute to product development aligned with the technology roadmap
- Support proposal preparation through requirement analysis and compliance matrices
- Ensure timely delivery of project milestones and maintain the master schedule with the Project Controller
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree in Aerospace, Avionics, Electronics, Control, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- 5+ years of relevant experience in avionics system design, aircraft systems integration, Flight Control Systems, navigation systems, or another safety-critical embedded domain
- Proven experience developing system architectures and requirements for complex airborne equipment or integrated avionics systems
- Solid knowledge of navigation systems and applications, including INS/IMU, GNSS, AHRS/ADAHRS, Air Data, aiding sensors, sensor fusion, navigation integrity, and timing
- Experience with system interfaces and airborne communication technologies such as ARINC 429, Ethernet, CAN, serial interfaces, discrete I/O, and time-synchronization signals
- Knowledge of ARP4754A/ARP4761A, DO-178C, DO-254, DO-160, DO-297, and certification considerations for multicore processors and partitioned real-time operating systems
- Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken
