About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Create robust, design-intent-driven 3D models and assemblies in PTC Creo Parametric for complex aerospace hardware
  • Model cast and machined parts, including draft, parting lines, machining allowances, and casting-to-machined family relationships
  • Design and document cable and harness assemblies using Creo Cabling, including routing, connector definition, and formboard or nailboard drawings
  • Develop printed board assembly models through ECAD-MCAD collaboration
  • Author Model-Based Definition data per ASME Y14.41 and Y14.47
  • Produce 2D engineering drawings with correct GD&T per ASME Y14.5 and drawing practices per ASME Y14.100
  • Manage CAD data in PLM, including lifecycle states, BOM structure, part numbering, and ECR/ECO change management
  • Perform and support tolerance stack-up analysis
  • Review models and drawings from peers and suppliers for standards compliance, manufacturability, and design intent
  • Develop and maintain CAD best practices and modeling guidelines; mentor engineers and designers
  • Work with manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and electrical and systems engineering to resolve design and producibility issues
  • Support the transition from drawing-based to model-based enterprise workflows
  • Report to the Mechanical Engineering Design Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Creo Parametric modeling, MBD, and drafting of complex hardware, including CAD-to-PLM integration
  • Advanced proficiency in PTC Creo Parametric, including complex part modeling, top-down assembly design, skeletons, family tables, parameters and relations
  • Demonstrated experience modeling cast and machined parts and designing cable assemblies
  • Working knowledge of printed board assembly design and ECAD-MCAD data exchange
  • Hands-on experience authoring MBD data and 2D engineering drawings
  • Strong working knowledge of GD&T and ASME Y14 standards
  • Experience with CAD-to-PLM integration, including BOM management and engineering change processes
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required export-control or security eligibility
  • Clear written and verbal communication; able to explain standards and modeling decisions to engineers at all levels
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • Must be a US Citizen due to contractual requirements
  • Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline preferred
  • ASME GDTP certification, PTC Creo certification or equivalent demonstrated expertise, and PLM experience valued
