About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate cross-functional teams

- Deliver process improvements aligned with business objectives
- Design, develop, and integrate highly complex software applications for aviation solutions
- Manage software development process improvement performance and execution
- Develop and manage costs, schedules, and milestones
- Manage Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
- Develop and manage project risks, including threats and opportunities
- Maintain internal and external customer technical communication and relationships
- Drive quality, efficiency, and productivity improvement initiatives using a controlled management approach
- Perform technical problem solving and root cause analysis for process audits and analysis
- Define technical process flows, procedures, and compliance methods
- Lead a team of engineers supporting software quality process development, deployment, and continuous improvement
- Report to the Director of Engineering
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or Industrial Engineering
- 4+ years of experience with managing software engineering projects in a technical environment
- Knowledge of project management principles, structured software engineering development processes and tools, and quality standards
- Proficiency with project management tools and software such as MS Project or IMS/ABM schedules
- Ability to analyze technical data and develop actionable project plans to meet objectives
- Understanding various software development lifecycles (AGILE & Waterfall)
- Understanding various software development process methods (SEI CMMI/CMM, AGILE / SAFE Agile)
- Six Sigma or Lean development methodology (Green Belt or Black Belt)
- Ability to evaluate, document, and improve development processes in a Continues Process Improvement methodology (CPI)
- Knowledge of software configuration management and change management practices and associated control tools (e.g. GIT/Bitbucket and JIRA)
- Experience in developing or managing software in certified or regulated safety environments (e.g. DO-178, DL-160, MIL-STD 883)
- Ability to effectively communicate subtle or complex messages in a diverse team environment
- Must be a U.S. Person: a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status, or have the ability to obtain an export authorization
