About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, test, and deploy software supporting engine test automation and data acquisition
Maintain and support existing software solutions and tools
Diagnose software and hardware issues quickly
Implement clean, maintainable, well-documented code following internal standards and best practices
Integrate instrumentation and hardware interfaces into software systems
Participate in code reviews, testing, and validation of software releases
Collaborate with test engineers and internal customers to gather requirements and deliver functional software solutions
Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues in laboratory environments involving software and hardware systems
Support engine testing on call and respond when systems fail in the field

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
Software coding experience in 2 or more languages, like Python, Java, C++
4+ years of experience in software development lifecycle including validation and verification
Familiarity with basic Linux/Unix command line tools
Experience testing software applications in open and close-loop environments
4+ years with data structures and SQL databases
4+ years experience with Ethernet-based communication protocols like Modbus TCP/IP, OPC UA
4+ years experience with object-oriented programming
Familiarity with ARINC 429 and MIL-STD-1553 is of value
Knowledge of software configuration management and Software Quality Assurance (SQA) tools such as Git, Bitbucket, JIRA, and/or Subversion
Good oral and written communication skills with customers
Proven ability to work with minimal direction in a cross-functional team environment
Willingness to respond quickly with quality solutions in support of customers
U.S. Person requirement: U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, protected status under asylum or refugee status, or ability to obtain export authorization
