About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate cross-functional teams
- Ensure project milestones are met
- Deliver software development process improvements aligned with business objectives
- Lead software quality process development, deployment, and continuous improvement
- Manage software development process improvement project performance and execution
- Develop and manage costs, schedules, and milestones
- Manage Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
- Develop and manage risks, including threats and opportunities
- Maintain technical communication and relationships with internal and external customers
- Drive quality, efficiency, and productivity improvement initiatives using controlled management approaches
- Perform technical problem solving and root cause analysis for process audits and analysis
- Define technical documentation, process flows, procedures, and compliance methods
- Generate innovative solutions to problems and opportunities
- Report to the Director of Engineering
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
- 4+ years of experience managing software engineering projects in a technical environment
- Knowledge of project management principles, structured software engineering development processes and tools, and quality standards
- Proficiency with project management tools and software such as MS Project or IMS/ABM schedules
- Ability to analyze technical data and develop actionable project plans to meet objectives
- Understanding of software development lifecycles, including AGILE and Waterfall
- Understanding of software development process methods, including SEI CMMI/CMM and SAFE Agile
- Knowledge of Six Sigma or Lean development methodology; Green Belt or Black Belt valued
- Ability to evaluate, document, and improve development processes using Continuous Process Improvement methodology
- Knowledge of software configuration management and change management practices and tools such as GIT/Bitbucket and JIRA
- Experience developing or managing software in certified or regulated safety environments such as DO-178, DL-160, or MIL-STD 883 valued
- Ability to communicate subtle or complex messages in a diverse team environment
- Must be a U.S. Person: U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, protected status under asylum or refugee status, or able to obtain export authorization
