About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, implement, and manage complex environmental control systems
- Perform mechanical systems and equipment integration and oversight
- Coordinate with component and analysis teams
- Support system architecture trade studies
- Present tradeoffs involving cost, weight, performance, technical factors, and schedule risk
- Develop requirements-based system engineering solutions that satisfy customer requirements
- Validate and verify requirements using the V-model
- Create and execute verification plans
- Plan and execute system-level performance, environmental, and vibration tests
- Present technical content to technical leads, customers, and management
- Prepare technical reports and coordination memos
- Maintain traceable documentation supporting program execution
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical-systems-related engineering experience
- Direct experience and expertise in at least one part of requirements-based engineering, such as requirement validation, derivation/decomposition, verification planning, qualification planning, or system/component testing
- Ability to execute requirement-based engineering tasks with minimal oversight
- Fundamental understanding of stress, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer
- Organized approach for completing work on time and meeting quality expectations
- Experience with systems or project engineering in the aerospace industry is valued
- Experience with environmental control systems, vapor cycle systems, air cycle systems, thermal management systems, fuel tank inerting systems, system architecture, turbomachinery, heat exchangers, power electronics, or controls is valued
- Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS or DOORS NG is valued
- Must be a U.S. Person or have the ability to obtain an export authorization
