About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build and maintain ELT/ETL pipelines ingesting financial systems, ERP/CRM systems, files, and APIs into Snowflake
- Develop SQL and Python transformations in Dataiku and Databricks
- Produce trusted, reusable finance data marts and subject-area tables
- Automate and orchestrate workflows, including scheduling, dependency management, alerts, logging, and monitoring
- Publish performant Snowflake views and semantic layers for Tableau analytics
- Optimize Snowflake query patterns, warehouses, micro-partitions, caching, clustering, and cost-efficient configurations
- Implement data validation, reconciliations to source systems, lineage documentation, and access controls
- Uphold PII and financial data standards
- Gather requirements with Finance/FP&A, Accounting, and business analysts
- Translate period close, variance analysis, and forecasting metrics into data models and pipelines
- Manage code in Git, conduct reviews, write unit/integration tests, and promote changes through dev/test/prod
- Convert manual and Excel processes into automated, auditable pipelines
- Prototype utilities and frameworks in Python
Requirements
What you’ll need- US Citizen status
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3–5 years of professional data engineering experience, including 2+ years with Snowflake
- Snowflake experience in data modeling, SQL performance, and warehouse administration
- Advanced SQL and practical Python skills for data processing and automation
- Hands-on experience with Dataiku and Databricks for pipeline development and orchestration
- Experience preparing datasets for Tableau consumption
- Familiarity with semantic layers, live vs. extract strategies, and performance best practices
- Ability to partner with Finance/FP&A teams and translate business logic into reproducible data transformations
- Strong documentation habits, communication skills, and commitment to data quality and operational excellence
- Exposure to Azure, AWS, or GCP and data services
- Experience with secrets management and resource cost optimization
- Familiarity with Snowflake Streams, Tasks, and Dynamic Tables
- Experience with CI/CD, GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps, pytest/unit testing, and environment promotion
- Knowledge of data governance, including cataloging, lineage, roles/policies, and financial data controls
- Background in finance concepts including GL, P&L, balance sheet, budgeting, and forecasting
