About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Guide and drive the hardware design process
- Define hardware requirements and design complex hardware systems
- Collaborate with engineering functional teams to select EEE components for high-reliability applications
- Support EEE component selection and validation efforts
- Support EEE component failure investigations
- Perform part assessments and specification reviews
- Develop specifications defining screening and qualification requirements for EEE components
- Communicate non-compliance incidents to pertinent parties
- Use engineering tools for part assessments and obsolescence analysis
- Execute project subtasks to meet customer specifications, including designing and testing
- Identify areas for technical improvement using engineering knowledge and principles
- Interface with and lead design teams and suppliers to assess part performance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
- Experience in design, development and/or manufacturing of electronic hardware, component engineering, or related roles
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and related hardware component engineering tools
- U.S. citizenship required due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations
- Familiarity with component engineering tools, military specifications and standards for EEE components
- Technical knowledge of EEE part commodities and their specifications
- Understanding of the physics behind EEE part construction, such as die material, substrate, and package
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with little supervision and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Ability to collaborate with engineering functional teams
- Ability to evaluate and recommend technical solutions based on standard or accepted technical practices
