About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and manage a team of experienced import compliance professionals
  • Ensure imports are entered in compliance with U.S. Customs Regulations
  • Conduct internal audits and assessments, implement corrective actions
  • Ensure site operations comply with U.S. Foreign-Trade Zone regulations
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to build tariff mitigation processes
  • Manage FTZ inventory control monitoring and resolve inventory issues
  • Ensure U.S. import and FTZ procedures remain current and accurate
  • Complete annual reconciliation of import entries accurately and on time
  • Support on-site CBP compliance reviews and respond to CBP28s and CBP29s
  • Develop and implement trade compliance policies and procedures
  • Provide guidance, training, and awareness programs to internal stakeholders
  • Monitor regulatory changes and communicate organizational impact
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve compliance issues and mitigate risks
  • Continuously evaluate processes for improvement
  • Resolve day-to-day import issues causing supply chain delays
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on projects and trade compliance support needs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of experience in trade compliance, preferably in a multinational company
  • Strong knowledge of import and export regulations, including customs laws, export controls, and sanctions
  • Experience in managing trade compliance programs and compliance audits
  • 5+ years of management experience
  • 3+ years of experience directly supporting FTZ operations
  • Licensed Customs Broker (LCB)
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work self-reliantly and in a team, collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Strong people-oriented and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing regulations and requirements
  • Must be a U.S. person under U.S. export control laws: a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or person with protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status
