About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead successful execution of Flight Controls programs, achieving technical, cost, schedule, quality, and customer objectives
  • Serve as primary engineering interface to customers, Program Management, and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Independently manage engineering scope, planning, execution, risks, and deliverables with minimal management oversight
  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams across Systems, Software, Hardware, Safety, Certification, Manufacturing, and Quality organizations
  • Identify, mitigate, and resolve technical, schedule, cost, and program risks and issues
  • Ensure compliance with company development processes, certification requirements, and program governance practices
  • Support business growth through proposal development, engineering estimates, change requests, and customer engagements
  • Mentor Project Engineers and develop project management best practices within the Flight Controls organization
  • Drive program execution from proposal and planning through certification, customer delivery, and program closeout

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, System Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience related to flight controls or related avionics programs
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a PE
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification valued; candidates without a PMP may be expected to obtain it through Honeywell Aerospace's sponsored PMP program
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management skills
  • Ability to independently drive complex programs
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with customers, program management, and cross-functional engineering teams
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams through development, integration, test, and certification activities
  • Knowledge of DAL A avionics systems development, verification, validation, and certification processes with FAA, EASA, CAAC or other civil aviation certification agencies
  • Experience integrating and testing DAL A avionics systems in laboratory, ground test, and flight test environments
  • Experience supporting proposal development, customer pursuits, and business growth initiatives
  • U.S. Person requirement: U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status, or ability to obtain an export authorization
