About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Estimate, plan and execute complex work packages supporting new product development programs
  • Lead large, cross-functional teams through design, analysis, requirements management, hardware and testing
  • Interface with systems engineers and product engineers to develop, validate and manage technical requirements
  • Partner with advanced technology teams to align programs with program needs
  • Lead in-house manufacturing and supplier engagement activities
  • Work with supply chain, manufacturing engineering and suppliers to ensure hardware is producible, meets cost objectives and supports technical and schedule objectives
  • Coordinate with test teams to support development and certification engine tests
  • Manage cost accounts, analyze budgets, provide forecasts and track earned value
  • Develop and manage schedules and milestones
  • Drive Agile program planning and execution
  • Identify, characterize and develop plans to manage risks and realize opportunities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent sciences or engineering-based degree
  • Direct experience with the design, development and certification of gas turbine engines, propulsion systems, engine installations or other complex mechanical products
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience
  • Must be a U.S. Person: a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status, or have the ability to obtain an export authorization
  • Knowledge of FAA or equivalent certification requirements for engines and/or aircraft
  • PMP Certificate
  • Experience planning and executing technical programs, including budget and schedule estimation and resource planning
  • Strong project management skills
  • Systems engineering or requirements management experience
  • Ability to recognize cost and schedule risks and develop and execute risk mitigation plans
  • Ability to provide technical contributions essential to project completion
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in a second language
  • Ability to prioritize time and resources effectively
  • Ability to work with little supervision and take initiative
  • Tolerance for ambiguity and ability to react quickly to changing scope
