About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as primary technical software lead for PODS and MBSE programs for the entire Performance & Operability Department
- Lead new MBSE digital transformation initiatives and drive collaboration with CDA
- Own system/software architecture and long-term technical direction
- Define and enforce software design patterns, coding standards, and best practices
- Drive scalability, reliability, and security considerations in the architecture
- Create and drive automated testing strategies
- Champion Agile frameworks
- Drive configuration management and version control best practices
- Drive seamless data communication between software tools across the organization
- Lead a global team of engineers from the USA, Puerto Rico, and India
- Foster mentoring relationships that enable knowledge transfer and technical growth
- Teach object-oriented programming to the methods team
- Communicate with peers, customers, and leadership
- Review and approve technical software requirements for internal and external audiences
- Perform requirements analysis and requirements decomposition
- Travel domestically and internationally 20%
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be a U.S. Person, defined as a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, protected status holder under asylum or refugee status, or have the ability to obtain an export authorization
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering or mathematics
- 15 years of experience with turbine engine Performance Modeling and Analysis
- U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident/current Green Card holder, or lawfully admitted refugee or asylee
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or similar Engineering disciplines
- Expert understanding of gas turbine engine thermodynamics and physics
- Expertise with turbomachine concept modeling, development, and trade studies
- Effective technical leadership
- Ability to influence and lead the Performance organization in technical innovation and transformation
- Professional verbal and written communication skills; adept at presenting to upper leadership and customers
- Ability to work in diverse and global teams
- Self-motivated, able to work with little supervision and take initiative
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and program needs
- Ability to multitask and manage complicated tasks
