About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, and analyze static gas turbine engine components
- Perform strength, fatigue, containment, heat transfer, and other stress analyses
- Perform stress analysis using complex finite element and classical book calculation methods
- Support testing
- Conduct manpower, task, and schedule planning
- Coordinate projects
- Ensure project and product compliance
- Manage risks
- Develop processes
- Perform root cause analysis and corrective action
- Communicate with Project Engineering teams
- Conduct design reviews and presentations to internal and external customers
- Ensure proper documentation of work performed
- Participate in department process improvement initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics
- Minimum of 4 years of experience performing structural analysis on gas turbine engines
- Proficiency in linear static, nonlinear/elastic-plastic, fatigue (HCF & LCF), modal, shock, harmonic, random vibration, and crack growth analyses
- Strong working knowledge of ANSYS finite element software and classical hand calculation methods
- Significant experience with new product development in a highly regulated environment
- Ability to analyze and solve complex and challenging problems
- Ability to effectively operate in a matrix organization
- Track record of successful contribution to products and projects
- Keen mindset to envision process improvements and execute such initiatives
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must be a U.S. Person, defined as a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, protected status holder under asylum or refugee status, or person able to obtain export authorization
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
