Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a technical authority and trusted advisor for next-generation avionics software platforms
  • Define and own software architecture, engineering standards, and technical direction across multiple products and programs
  • Lead the design and development of complex, safety-critical software systems spanning embedded, platform, application, and cloud-connected technologies
  • Drive innovation and influence long-term product strategy, technology roadmaps, and architectural decisions
  • Champion software quality through scalable verification and validation strategies, test automation, and continuous integration practices
  • Collaborate across systems engineering, hardware, certification, cybersecurity, and user experience teams to deliver integrated solutions
  • Mentor senior and staff engineers, fostering technical excellence throughout the organization
  • Lead the evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies, development methodologies, and engineering best practices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics
  • 12+ years of software engineering experience developing complex, mission-critical products
  • Demonstrated experience leading software architecture and technical decision-making for large-scale software systems
  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline
  • Software architecture ownership experience
  • Experience developing embedded, real-time, distributed, or cloud-connected systems
  • Knowledge of avionics, aerospace, or other regulated industries developing safety-critical software
  • Expertise in modern software engineering practices including CI/CD, automated testing, and DevSecOps
  • Strong record of technical leadership, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Ability to influence engineering strategy across teams and organizations
  • Candidate must be a U.S. Person: a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, protected status holder in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status, or have the ability to obtain an export authorization
