About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan and procure materials needed to meet manufacturing build requirements for product lines
  • Request and analyze quotes to ensure reasonable pricing and specification compliance
  • Initiate purchases and contracts through the MRP process
  • Review forecasted requirements and determine when to execute orders
  • Negotiate critical, complex awards in accordance with company and government regulations
  • Prepare purchase orders and arrange for specifications, material, and tooling to be sent to suppliers
  • Manage cost improvement initiatives and establish multi-year agreements
  • Pull, push, or cancel orders according to production plans
  • Ensure materials are available for manufacturing requirements
  • Balance material inflow and inventory turnover
  • Investigate and resolve receiving, invoice, and supplier issues
  • Address defective materials and arrange returns and credits
  • Interface with technical and management personnel regarding material, quantity, quality, and delivery changes
  • Develop commodity-specific suppliers based on quality, service, technology, and price performance
  • Analyze problems and determine solutions
  • Report to the Procurement Manager and collaborate with stakeholders on a hybrid schedule following onsite training

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be a U.S. person: U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or person with protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
  • Work visa sponsorship is not available
  • Experience in a procurement environment
  • Advanced to Expert level in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Manufacturing, electronic, or aerospace industry background
  • Experience performing price or cost analysis
  • Experience in vendor management, including agreement negotiation
  • Knowledge of FAR or recent experience supporting a government contractor environment
  • SAP or Oracle MRP experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree valued/preferred
